PROTECTING SENIORS – The South Coast is a wonderful place to retire – but when it comes to long term care facilities, we don’t have a lot of choices. So it’s very important that the conditions in those facilities are up to par.
Before Caddy intervened, the regulations on long term care facilities in Oregon were very lax.
Facilities were required to meet certain health and safety standards – but the penalties for not complying were often so small, some facilities just paid the fines instead of meeting the standards of care.
Caddy changed all that by putting a structure of fees, fines and penalties in place.
Then, in 2018, she turned to administrative licensing – passing a bill that require that all administrators of long term care facilities in Oregon be licensed.
